Choose a design
Browse the 21 website designs, pick a starting point and prepare the brief JPRAXC needs to build your site.
Your website starts from one of JPRAXC's 21 designs and is then shaped around the school's own name, colours, pages and content. Choosing a design early, and gathering your content, makes the design stage quicker and keeps the review focused on real pages.
Before you start#
- Decide who will approve the website: one project owner who signs off the brief, the content and the launch.
- If the school already has a website or a domain, note its address and who holds the login for it.
Steps#
- Open the Website Designing & Hosting page on jpraxc.com.
- Select See the 21 designs. The design gallery opens in a new tab. Each design is a working example you can click through on a phone and on a computer.
- Note the one or two designs closest to what the school wants, and what you like about each (the layout of the home page, the menu, the way news or notices are shown).
- Gather your content:
- the school's logo, in the best quality you have
- the list of pages you want
- the approved text for each page
- photographs the school has the right to use
- details of any existing website or domain
- Decide what visitors should be able to do: find the admission process, read notices, send an enquiry, find the school on a map, and so on. List the forms you need, such as enquiry, admission or contact.
- Decide who will check the content before launch.
- Send your choice and brief to JPRAXC with Buy Website Service or Request a consultation on the same page, or give it to your JPRAXC contact if a project is already running.
Good to know#
- The design is a starting point. JPRAXC applies the school's identity and confirms the final page structure with you in the design stage.
- Only use photographs and text the school owns or has permission to use.
- Keep one copy of the approved content. It saves time when the site is reviewed and when you ask for changes later.
- If you want a redesign of an existing site rather than a new one, say so in the request. It is a different project type.
