What parents see when they pay online
Pay Online in the JPX Parent app and Pay fees online in the Parent portal, step by step, with what each message means.
Parents pay fees online from the JPX Parent app or from the Parent portal in a browser. This guide walks through both, so the office can help a parent on the phone and a parent can follow it alone. The screens only appear once the school has a live payment gateway switched on.
In the JPX Parent app#
- Open Fees. Under Fees & receipts, select Pay Online. It shows how much is outstanding.
- The Pay fees online screen opens. Choose which fees to see: All, School, Transport or Hostel.
- If the school offers more than one gateway, choose one under Pay with. The school's default is marked (default).
- Under Outstanding instalments, tick each instalment to pay.
- If the school allows part payments, change Amount to pay (₹) on an instalment. A late fee is added only when an instalment is paid in full.
- Check the Selected total, then select Continue to payment.
- The phone's browser opens the school's secure payment page. Complete the payment on the gateway's form.
- Come back to the app and tap Check status. When the school has confirmed the payment, the app shows Payment successful with Open receipt.
In the Parent portal (browser)#
- Sign in to the Parent portal and open Fee.
- Scroll to Pay fees online. If there is more than one gateway, choose one under Pay with.
- Tick the instalments in the Pay column. If part payments are allowed, change the amount in Pay amount.
- Check Selected total and select Continue to payment.
- Select the Open secure checkout link at the top.
- On the payment page, select Pay securely and complete the payment on the gateway's form.
- Come back to the portal. Under Online payment history, select Refresh status. When the payment is confirmed, Download receipt appears.
The secure payment page#
The page shows the school's name (Payments for the school), the JPRAXC mark, the gateway's logo, and Amount payable. The gateway's own form collects card, UPI or net-banking details. Those details are never sent to the school or to JPRAXC.
What the messages mean#
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Processing — please do not pay again | A payment was started and the school is still waiting for the gateway to confirm it. If money left the account, it will be recorded when the gateway confirms. If it failed, nothing is recorded and the parent can pay again. |
| A payment is still being confirmed (app) | The app asks before a second payment. Pay again anyway may charge twice. Check the earlier payment's status first. |
| Payment successful | The school has confirmed and recorded the payment. The receipt is ready. |
| The payment did not go through. No money was recorded; you can try again. | The gateway reported a failure. Nothing was recorded. |
| The school has not enabled a live online payment gateway | Online payment is not switched on. Pay at the school counter. |
| Test payment | Shown on a test entry. It never pays a fee. |
Good to know#
- The ERP calculates the amount from the school's own fee records. Parents cannot add a discount or remove a late fee online; those are handled at the school office.
- The school adds no convenience fee. If the gateway's page shows an extra charge, it comes from the gateway, and the parent can stop and ask the school.
- One payment can cover school, transport and hostel instalments together. The receipt shows each part.
- In the app, Pay Online appears only when the school shows fee amounts to parents. The school sets this in Users & Control › Public portals.
- A payment appears as successful only after the school's ERP has confirmed it with the gateway. Coming back from the payment page on its own does not mark a fee paid.
Troubleshooting#
| What the parent sees | What to do |
|---|---|
| Money has left the account but there is no receipt | Do not pay again. Tap Check status (app) or Refresh status (portal) after a few minutes. If it still shows processing later in the day, tell the school office and share the payment reference shown in the history. See Troubleshooting online payments. |
| No browser on this phone could open the checkout page. | Install or enable a web browser on the phone, or pay from the Parent portal on another device. |
| An error about the name, e-mail or mobile number before the checkout opens | Some gateways need these for every payer. Ask the school office to check the details on the student's record, or choose another gateway under Pay with. |
| Pay Online is missing in the app | The school may not have a live gateway switched on, or may not show fee amounts to parents. Ask the school office. |
