Install JPX Parent and sign in
Verify your child's school with its School ID, sign in with the details the school holds, and link more than one child.
JPX Parent connects to one school. The first time you open it, you enter the school's School ID so the app knows which school it belongs to. After that you sign in with your child's details as the school register holds them. There is no password to remember for the Parent app.
Before you start#
You need these from the school:
- The school's School ID. It is 15 characters long. The school finds it on its School ERP dashboard and often prints it on admission papers.
- Your child's admission number.
- Your child's date of birth, exactly as the school recorded it.
- The father's 10-digit mobile number that the school has on record. If the school has no father's number, the guardian's mobile number recorded by the school is used instead.
Steps#
Verify the school (first time only)#
- Install JPX Parent and open it.
- On Verify your School ID, type the School ID into School ID. Capital letters are filled in for you.
- Under Before you verify your School ID, tick I accept the Terms of service for using this app.
- Tick I acknowledge the Privacy policy and Mobile app privacy notice explaining how my information is handled.
- Tap Verify school.
- Check the card that appears. It shows the school's name, board, affiliation number, address and phone number.
- If it is your child's school, tap Continue to JPX Parent. If not, tap Not my school — change ID and enter the ID again.
- Enter the Admission number.
- Enter the Student's date of birth as DD-MM-YYYY. You can also tap the calendar icon and pick the date.
- Enter the Father's mobile number as 10 digits.
- If the two ticks are shown again, tick both.
- Tap Sign in.
- Set your 4-digit App PIN when asked, and enter it again to confirm. The PIN is required.
- If your phone has fingerprint or face unlock, the app offers it next. Tap Use fingerprint, or Not now to use only the PIN.
You now see Home, with the school's card, your child's card, the modules the school allows, and the latest notices.
Link a second child#
A family with more than one child at the same school can keep all of them in one app.
- Tap More on the bottom bar.
- Tap Linked students.
- Tap Link another student.
- Sign in with the other child's admission number, date of birth and father's mobile number.
To switch between children later, open More › Linked students and tap the child's name. The lock screen also offers Switch student.
Change to a different school#
Only do this if the phone should now belong to a different school.
- Tap More.
- Tap Change school, then confirm Change school.
This forgets the verified school and every child signed in on the phone. You will need to verify a School ID and sign in again.
When policies are updated#
After you unlock the app, it checks for published updates to the Terms of service, Privacy policy and Mobile app privacy notice. If Policies updated appears:
- Read the linked policies under Before you continue.
- If you agree, tick the Terms acceptance and the privacy acknowledgement.
- Tap Accept and continue.
For seven days from the first reminder, Later lets you use the app. Tap Review on the reminder banner to reopen the choices. Closing the app, going offline or choosing Later keeps the existing deadline. After that period, app records stay closed until you accept the update. Sign out remains available and does not delete server records.
The app saves acceptance for the account in use, with the exact policy revisions you reviewed. If it cannot save that evidence on this phone, retry or sign out. Switching accounts does not accept policies for the other account.
Read the current Terms of service (opens in a new tab), Privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and Mobile app privacy (opens in a new tab).
Good to know#
- The admission number, date of birth and mobile number are checked against the school register. The app does not store them on the phone.
- Each child's modules depend on what the school allows. A module the school has not switched on does not appear.
- The bottom bar has Home, Student, Notices, ConnectX and More.
- Colours in the app follow your school's own theme. Choose Light, Phone or Dark under More › Appearance.
- Next, read App PIN, fingerprint and signing out.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Enter the complete 15-character School ID provided by your school." | Check the ID with the school office. Make sure no character is missing. |
| The card shows a different school | Tap Not my school — change ID and re-enter the ID. |
| Sign-in says the details do not match | Tap Details not matching?. The school must correct the admission number, date of birth or mobile number in the student record first. Then sign in again. |
| "Enter the father's 10-digit mobile number (it starts with 6, 7, 8 or 9)." | Enter only the 10 digits. Leave out +91 or a leading 0. |
| Access paused screen | Read the message on the screen and contact the school office. When the office says access is back, tap Try again. |
