App security, PIN and signing out of the ERP app
Change the ERP app's PIN in a popup, manage fingerprint or face unlock, lock with Sign out and remove the remembered account from a phone.
The App PIN protects the remembered account in JPX School ERP on this phone. More › App security opens its own page for PIN, fingerprint or face unlock and sign-out preferences. This guide explains locking the app and removing the account from the device.
Before you start#
- Set the four-digit App PIN when the app asks after your first sign-in.
- Unlock the app before changing its PIN or preferences.
- For fingerprint or face unlock, set up the phone's supported biometric unlock first.
Change the App PIN in the popup#
- Open More › App security.
- Tap Change beside App PIN.
- In the Change App PIN popup, enter a new four-digit PIN.
- Enter the same four digits again.
- Wait for App PIN changed.
Use Start again to choose another PIN, or Cancel to leave the popup. Cancelling keeps the previous PIN. If the PIN cannot be saved, the previous PIN still works. Changing the PIN keeps your biometric preferences.
Use fingerprint or face unlock#
- Open More › App security.
- Turn on Fingerprint or face unlock.
- Complete the phone's biometric confirmation.
- If wanted, turn on Open fingerprint automatically.
The automatic option asks for biometric unlock when the lock page opens. Otherwise, tap Use biometric unlock on that page. Your App PIN remains available.
Sign out and lock the app#
- Tap Sign out in the header, or More › Sign out.
- Read the Sign out? sheet if it appears.
- Tap Yes, sign out, or No, stay signed in to cancel.
- When you next open the app, enter the App PIN or use biometric unlock.
Signing out locks the remembered account behind the App PIN. On Android, the app also closes. It does not remove the account from this phone.
Tick Don't ask me again in the sheet to sign out without that question next time. To bring the question back, turn on More › App security › Ask before signing out.
If you forget the App PIN#
- On the lock page, tap Forgot App PIN?.
- Sign in with your ERP Login ID and ERP password.
- Complete the school's security check and second sign-in step if asked.
- Set and confirm the new App PIN when prompted.
You can also choose Sign in with ERP credentials on the lock page to sign in again. See ERP app sign-in.
Remove the remembered account from the phone#
- Unlock the app.
- Open More.
- Tap Remove from this phone.
- Read the confirmation and tap Remove.
The remembered account and its App PIN are removed from this device. To use it again, sign in with your ERP credentials. Removing the account does not delete the school's ERP records.
Good to know#
- The App PIN is for this device. Your ERP password and the school's second sign-in step protect the ERP account.
- Keep the phone's own screen lock on and keep your App PIN private.
- For a lost phone, ask the school administrator to review and end its account access.
- JPRAXC support does not need your password, App PIN or sign-in codes.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| The two PINs differ. Start again. | Enter a new PIN and confirm exactly the same four digits. |
| The PIN could not be saved on this device. | Your previous PIN remains in use. Try the change again when the device is working normally. |
| Not set up on this phone under biometric unlock | Set up supported fingerprint or face unlock in the phone's settings, then reopen App security. |
| Biometric confirmation fails | Use the App PIN. Turn biometric unlock on only after the phone confirms it. |
| The app asks for ERP credentials after wrong PIN entries | Stop guessing and sign in again with your ERP credentials. |
