SMS packs and balance
Check the school's SMS balance and top it up by buying an SMS pack from the School ERP.
SMS is bought by the message, in packs. A pack credits the school's SMS balance, and each message sent is charged against it. You check the balance and buy packs in the School ERP, without a separate sign-in.
Before you start#
- JPRAXC SMS must be active for the school. See Get JPRAXC SMS and complete the setup.
- To buy a pack, your role must be able to update Communication.
Check the balance#
- Open General Settings › SMS Configuration.
- Look at Balance on the SMS card. It shows the amount in ₹ left for sending.
- Select Refresh balance to read it again.
A Low label beside the balance means it is time to top up.
Buy an SMS pack#
- Open General Settings › SMS Configuration.
- Select Buy SMS pack. The panel Buy an SMS pack shows Balance now.
- Choose a pack. Each pack shows what it credits, how long it is valid, any monthly message allowance, and its price with GST.
- Check the total and select Continue to secure payment. JPRAXC's secure checkout opens in a new tab.
- Pay there.
The panel says Waiting for the payment to be confirmed… this panel updates by itself. When the payment is confirmed, it shows Done. The balance is now ₹… with the invoice number. The tax invoice is raised on the school's existing billing details.
Good to know#
- Every message keeps the rate that applied when it was sent, so a later rate change does not change past charges.
- Longer messages cost more: each SMS segment is charged, for every recipient. See Send SMS from the School ERP.
- When the balance runs out, SMS is refused until you buy a pack. The reason shows in the Error column of the Recipient queue.
- Some packs show a validity period or a monthly message allowance. Check them before you choose a pack.
