Text messages
Conversations between the school office, authorised staff and families using their existing school accounts.
Included with your ERP
Available now
Messaging built into the ERP your school already runs. The school office, staff and families exchange text, voice notes, photos and documents without swapping personal phone numbers — and without paying for every message.
Included with your licence · Text · Voice notes · Photos · PDF and documents · Contacts from the school roll
ConnectX is part of the ERP rather than a separate app to install, licence and administer. The people are already there, the roll is already current, and the conversation stays with the school record.
Conversations between the school office, authorised staff and families using their existing school accounts.
A recorded note when speaking is quicker than typing — a correction, an instruction, a reading.
A picture of a notice board, a worked example, a lost-property item.
PDFs and documents shared directly, without a personal email address in between.
The address book is the school roll. Nobody maintains a second list, and a student who leaves stops appearing.
Start conversations through school accounts instead of exchanging personal WhatsApp numbers.
Messages and files sit with the school record rather than on a personal device or a consumer app.
No per-message price, no wallet, no top-up. It comes with the ERP you already pay for.
ConnectX is in School ERP first. The other JPRAXC ERPs follow.
Keep school conversations close in the JPX Parent and Staff mobile apps, using the access your school provides.
Authorised class teachers can send one update to the families in their section, delivered into each family's own ConnectX conversation.
See unread counts for school office and class conversations, making new messages easier to find.
They are not competing channels. ConnectX reaches people who are already in the ERP; other channels reach recipients outside the ERP, subject to their permissions, connectivity and provider delivery conditions.
Day-to-day contact between staff and students: notes, files, voice messages. Included with the licence.
Supported codes and notices sent to a mobile number without requiring the Parent app or mobile data; carrier delivery still applies.
Notices and reminders on the app parents already have open, from your own registered business number.
Formal correspondence, statements and anything that needs an attachment and a record.
ConnectX arrives with the ERP. There is nothing separate to buy, no balance to watch and no second directory to maintain.
What it changes
Set up the conversation
Review the Parent and Staff portal accounts the school makes available.
Confirm class-teacher assignments and the communication permissions for each role.
The office, class teacher and family have different responsibilities. ConnectX follows those school relationships instead of creating an open social directory.
Use the Parent app to contact the School Office or your child’s assigned class teacher. Each conversation is tied to the school account and linked student record, with separate unread counts.
Use the Staff app to find families in your assigned section, open individual conversations and send a class update into each family’s own conversation. Families do not need to join a public group.
Keep office communication inside the Staff app with text and supported attachments. Class-family access depends on the school’s staff and class-teacher assignments.
Read and reply through the School ERP workspace using the school’s communication permissions. Keep day-to-day conversation history alongside the school’s own records.
Use the school’s Parent and Staff sign-in details. The school maintains linked students, active staff records and class-teacher assignments; there is no second contact list for families to build.
Parents can write to the office or assigned class teacher. Staff see the office thread and, where authorised, the families for their assigned section.
Write text, attach a supported photo or document, or record a voice note. File types and size limits are checked by the school server; the app shows the limits available for that conversation.
Unread badges help you find new replies. Open the thread to catch up. Background alerts depend on notification permission, network access and the school server’s notification setup.
ConnectX school messaging is included with the supported School ERP licence, without a per-message ConnectX wallet. Internet access, hosting, storage and any separately selected SMS, WhatsApp or email services remain subject to their own arrangements.
A ConnectX conversation is addressed through the school account and student or staff record, not by exchanging personal WhatsApp numbers. This does not change contact information a role may already be allowed to see elsewhere in the ERP.
No. The class-broadcast flow sends the teacher’s update to the eligible family conversations in the section. Families reply in their own conversation rather than a group visible to other families.
The workspace supports text, voice notes, photos and documents such as PDFs. Supported file formats, recording permissions and size limits depend on the app and school server; check the attachment controls before sending.
A connection to the school server is needed to exchange messages. A local/offline school installation does not by itself make that server reachable from a parent’s phone outside the school network. Ask about secure access before enabling remote use.
No. Live Classes is a separate optional service. ConnectX is for school communication and does not guarantee immediate delivery, emergency response or end-to-end encryption. Use the school’s urgent-contact procedure when a message cannot wait.
