JPX Mail app — sign in and accounts
Sign in to the JPX Mail app, reset a forgotten password, keep several mailboxes on one phone, and lock the app with a PIN.
The JPX Mail app (the Mail app) opens mailboxes provided through JPRAXC Business E-mail. You can keep more than one mailbox on the same phone and switch between them. The app is locked with a 4-digit PIN, and fingerprint or face unlock can be added. This guide covers signing in, passwords, accounts and the app lock. For reading and writing mail, see Read, write and attach files.
Before you start#
- Your organisation's administrator has created your mailbox.
- You know your full e-mail address, for example office@example.com, and your mailbox password.
- Install JPX Mail and open it.
- Swipe through the welcome screens and tap Get started.
- Enter your full Email address.
- Enter your Password.
- Leave Remember me ticked to stay signed in on this phone.
- Under Before you sign in to Business E-mail, tick I accept the Terms of service for using this app. and I acknowledge the Privacy policy and Mobile app privacy notice explaining how my information is handled.
- Tap Sign in.
- Set your 4-digit App PIN, then enter it again. The PIN is required.
- Tap Use fingerprint to add fingerprint or face unlock, or Not now.
First sign-in with a temporary password#
If your administrator gave you a temporary password, the app asks you to choose a permanent one before any mail opens.
- On Create your permanent password, enter a New password.
- Enter it again in Confirm new password.
- Tap Save password and open mailbox.
Reset a forgotten password#
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?.
- Enter your Email address and tap Email me a code.
- A code is sent to the recovery e-mail address saved in your mailbox settings, not to the locked mailbox.
- Enter the code.
- Enter a New password and confirm it.
- Tap Verify and change password.
- Sign in with the new password.
Add and switch mailboxes#
- Tap your profile picture at the top right to open Accounts.
- Tap Add account and sign in to the other mailbox.
- To switch, open Accounts and tap the mailbox. The one in use is marked Active.
- To remove a mailbox from the phone, tap the remove icon beside it and confirm Remove. Other mailboxes stay signed in.
App PIN, fingerprint and signing out#
Manage the lock under More › Security:
- Change PIN — enter a new PIN twice.
- Fingerprint or face — turn biometric unlock on or off.
- Lock now — ask for the PIN or biometrics straight away.
- Ask before signing out — whether Sign out? is asked first.
Sign out (under More or in the menu) locks the app with your PIN. Your mailbox stays on the phone and new mail still arrives. It opens again with your PIN or fingerprint.
To remove the mailbox from the phone completely, tap Remove this account from the phone under More.
Forgotten PIN#
- On the lock screen, tap Forgot PIN? Sign in again.
- Confirm Remove and sign in.
Your PIN protects every mailbox on the phone, so all of them are removed from the phone. Sign in again with a mailbox password, then set a new PIN. Your mail stays on the server.
Change your mailbox password#
- Go to More › Security.
- Under Mailbox password, enter the Current password, the New password and Confirm new password.
- Tap Change password.
Changing the password signs out every other device. This phone stays signed in.
When policies are updated#
After you unlock the app, it checks for published updates to the Terms of service, Privacy policy and Mobile app privacy notice. If Policies updated appears:
- Read the linked policies under Before you continue.
- If you agree, tick the Terms acceptance and the privacy acknowledgement.
- Tap Accept and continue.
For seven days from the first reminder, Later lets you use the app. Tap Review on the reminder banner to reopen the choices. Closing the app, going offline or choosing Later keeps the existing deadline. After that period, app records stay closed until you accept the update. Sign out remains available and does not delete server records.
The app saves acceptance for the account in use, with the exact policy revisions you reviewed. If it cannot save that evidence on this phone, retry or sign out. Switching accounts does not accept policies for the other account.
Read the current Terms of service (opens in a new tab), Privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and Mobile app privacy (opens in a new tab).
Good to know#
- Your display name and recovery e-mail are under More › Personal Information. The e-mail address, organisation and access level are set by your organisation.
- Organisation administrators see Organisation under More, for mailboxes, aliases and outgoing delivery. See JPRAXC Business E-mail.
- After several wrong PIN attempts, the app removes the mailboxes from the phone. Sign in again with your mailbox password.
- Unticking Remember me means the mailbox is not kept after the app is closed.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Enter your full email address." | Type the whole address, including the part after @. |
| Password not accepted | Tap Forgot password?, or ask your administrator to reset it. |
