Connect Easebuzz
Get the Merchant Key and Salt from Easebuzz, connect them in Payment Configuration, register the webhooks and complete Easebuzz's go-live steps.
Use this guide to connect the school's own Easebuzz merchant account to the School ERP. The card is called Easebuzz. It needs two values: Merchant Key (key) and Salt (salt). Easebuzz gives separate test and live values.
Before you start#
- The school has an approved, standard Easebuzz merchant account in Indian rupees.
- You have the school administrator's login for the School ERP.
- Student records carry the father's mobile number and an e-mail address. Easebuzz needs a name, e-mail and mobile number for every payer.
- Read Set up a gateway in Payment Configuration once.
Easebuzz's screens change from time to time. If a menu below looks different, follow Easebuzz's own documentation for keys, webhooks and go-live.
Get your key and salt from Easebuzz#
- Sign in to the Easebuzz dashboard.
- Find the test merchant key and salt in the dashboard's integration or developer settings.
- Copy the Key and the Salt.
Easebuzz sends the live key and salt to the registered e-mail address after its go-live process. You will add those later.
Enter them in the School ERP#
- Open General Settings › Payment Configuration.
- Set Environment to Test / sandbox, then select Configure on the Easebuzz card.
- Check that Test environment is selected.
- Paste into Merchant Key (key) and Salt (salt).
- Select Save settings.
Easebuzz has no Test connection button in the ERP. You prove the keys with a sandbox payment instead.
Register the webhooks in Easebuzz#
- In the ERP, select Copy Webhook URL below the form.
- In the Easebuzz dashboard, open the webhook settings in account settings.
- Paste the address as the transaction webhook, and also as the refund webhook.
- Save them.
The ERP sends Easebuzz the address to return the parent to with every payment, so you do not type the Return URL into Easebuzz. It is shown on the ERP screen for reference.
Test, go through Easebuzz's go-live, then go live#
- Select Start sandbox payment and complete a test payment. See Test a payment end to end.
- Complete the test cases Easebuzz asks for in its dashboard and submit them for approval.
- When the live key and salt arrive, open the ERP panel, select Live environment, paste them, tick Enable and use this gateway for fee payments and select Save settings.
- Copy the live Webhook URL and register it in Easebuzz's live webhook settings for transactions and refunds.
Good to know#
- The largest single payment through Easebuzz is ₹99,99,999.
- The ERP confirms every Easebuzz payment with Easebuzz before posting a receipt.
- Full and partial refunds can be started from the ERP. A refund counts as complete only when Easebuzz reports it refunded. See Refund an online payment.
- Easebuzz settlements are not fetched into the ERP. Record each bank settlement by hand. See Reconciliation and settlements.
- The ERP uses Easebuzz's standard hosted checkout. Split, sub-merchant and mandate (auto-debit) accounts are not used.
Troubleshooting#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| A parent sees an error about the name or e-mail before the checkout opens | Check the student's record: the name, Father mobile and Email must be filled in correctly. |
| The sandbox payment fails at the start | Check that the key and salt are the test values, pasted without spaces at either end. |
| Refunds show Awaiting gateway confirmation for a long time | Easebuzz processes refunds in stages. Check the refund in the Easebuzz dashboard. The ERP updates when Easebuzz reports it refunded. |
