Message status and why messages are refused
What the SMS statuses in the School ERP mean, where to see refusals, and the common reasons an SMS is refused, in plain words.
Every SMS the School ERP sends is recorded with its status. When a message cannot go, the ERP shows the reason, and the DLT registration details section lists messages the networks refused because of the school's registration. This guide explains what you see and what to do.
Status in the Recipient queue#
Communication › Recipient queue shows each message with its Status and Error.
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Not sent yet. If the Error column has a reason, the last attempt was refused. | Read the reason, fix it, then select Send now again. |
| Done | JPRAXC SMS accepted the message for sending. | Nothing. Select Resend if the family says it did not arrive. |
| Deleted | Removed from the queue. It will not be sent. | Nothing. |
Status of fee reminders#
In Dues & Reminders, open Lines on a batch in the Reminder register to see each family's message: Waiting, Sent, Failed or Skipped, with the reason under the status. The full guide is in the School ERP section.
Refusals on DLT#
- Open General Settings › SMS Configuration.
- In DLT registration details, select Refresh.
- Look at Refused on DLT in the last 30 days. Each row shows What the platform said, how many Messages were refused, the Last time it happened and What to do.
- Open What a refusal means below it for the full list of reasons the platform gives, each with its meaning and what to do.
When nothing was refused, the section says No message has been refused on its DLT registration in the last 30 days.
Common reasons, in plain words#
| Reason | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Template mismatch | The text sent does not match any message text registered for the school. Usually the wording was changed in the ERP, or a variable part is too long. | Send the registered wording, or register the new wording. Keep each variable part short. See Sender IDs and message templates in the ERP. |
| Unregistered or inactive sender ID | The sender ID is not registered, is waiting for approval, or has been suspended or has expired. | Check Sender IDs (headers) for the Platform's answer. Contact JPRAXC support if it is suspended or expired. |
| Wrong type of message for the sender ID | For example, promotional wording sent under a service sender ID, or a text registered under a different sender ID. | Send only the kinds of messages you registered, under the sender ID they were registered with. |
| Organisation or telemarketer chain not in place | The school's registration is not complete, or the telemarketer chain is not declared. | Follow the Principal entity and Telemarketer chain lines in DLT registration details. |
| Link or call-back number not allowed | The message contains a web link or number that is not whitelisted for the school. | Remove it, or ask JPRAXC support to have it whitelisted. |
| Invalid mobile number | The number recorded in the ERP is not a valid Indian mobile number. | Correct the parent's or staff member's number in their record. |
| Balance used up | There is not enough SMS balance. | Buy an SMS pack. See SMS packs and balance. |
| SMS switched off or not yet active | SMS is switched off in the ERP, or JPRAXC has not switched it on yet. | Tick Send on SMS, or complete the setup. |
